Ahh! Another cyberspace-seagull! Run away!

Neuromancer's seagull is haunting - like the haunting emptiness that case feels - the gull brings to mind the sea. Despite the fact that this sea seems empty, Maybe the sea is like cyberspace. Cyberspace is like the real open sea was to, say the whalers of Moby Dick - a vast and never ending place of adventure and conquest. The great void is where the Melvillian Whaler and the Gibsonian Cyberspace Cowboy ply their trade at the expense of the mysterious behemoths that inhabit it, at peril to the dangers posed by their quarry.
